Configuring Bonus in Saral PayPack – Part 1

In this Tutorial we will be learning how to Configure Bonus in Saral PayPack

First, let us understand what a bonus is.

A bonus is a financial reward provided to employees by an organization, often given in recognition of their performance or as part of statutory requirements. In India, the Payment of Bonus Act, 1965, mandates certain businesses to pay bonuses to employees based on their profits and the employee’s salary. Bonuses can also be company-specific, calculated as a fixed percentage of an employee’s salary or based on other criteria like working days or tenure.

In Saral PayPack, you can configure and process bonuses efficiently while adhering to organizational and statutory guidelines. This tutorial explains how to set up bonus configurations in the software.

To configure the Bonus option, navigate to Pre Salary Transaction → Bonus.

Let us start by creating a Bonus by clicking on Add icon, wherein we can enter the Bonus Head name , Once the Head name is created we there will be two section which is the Definition & Calculation

Under Definition, follow the steps for configuration

Navigate to the Bonus option under Pre- Salary Transaction Module. If the bonus is calculated as a percentage or based on a specific formula, enable the Calculate bonus checkbox.

Enter the formula as required, such as a percentage of the salary amount.Or if you are manually editing the Bonus value, enable the Manual Editing option.

Define the Bonus Period by specifying the Start Month and the End Month. Choose the Pay month in which Bonus have to be paid.

Next, set the Bonus rule. Set the maximum amount of Bonus that an employee can receive under the Max Bonus section

Next, input the minimum number of days an employee must work to qualify for the bonus under the Consider employees with a minimum working days of section.

Choose, Dependent if the Bonus is based on Employees salary and Independent if it’s not based on Employees Salary. If required, enable Include in FFS to ensure the bonus is included in the Final Settlement Statement (FFS).

Decide how much the Bonus amount should be rounded off in the rounding off section.

Under PT on Bonus, select the following options by clicking the radio button:

*Respective Month: PT is applied based on the month the bonus is paid. And we can also specify if the calculation should consider previous year’s details or Current Year Where,

* Consider Previous Year: Check this option if the calculation should consider previous year’s details.

* Do not Consider Previous Year: Leave unchecked to focus only on the current year’s data.

*Current Month: PT is calculated in the current configuration month.

Finally, choose the payment method and click on save
