The minimum wage in Telangana depends on the type of work, the employee’s category, and the zone where the establishment is located. The state government revises these wages from time to time by updating the Basic Wage and Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA).
Telangana follows a three-zone system for fixing minimum wages:
Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) is an allowance paid along with the basic wage. It is revised periodically to help employees manage the impact of rising prices and inflation.
The Telangana Government fixes and revises the minimum wages through the Labour Department by issuing official notifications.
The government revises the Basic Wage whenever a new notification is issued. The VDA is also updated periodically based on changes in the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
