In Gujarat, minimum wages are revised from time to time based on changes in the cost of living. For the latest revision, the Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) has been fixed at ₹60.50 per day for the period from 1 April 2026 to 30 September 2026. These revised rates apply to different scheduled employments, including shops and establishments.
The minimum wage is made up of the basic wage and VDA. For the current period, the total minimum wage ranges from ₹501.50 to ₹534.50 per day, depending on the employee’s skill level and zone.

The minimum wage also differs based on the employee’s skill level, such as unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled. The latest rates are applicable from 1 April 2026 to 30 September 2026.

The latest minimum wage rates in Gujarat are applicable from 1 April 2026 to 30 September 2026. The total wage ranges from ₹501.50 to ₹534.50 per day, depending on the employee’s skill category and zone.
The Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) in Gujarat is ₹60.50 per day for the period from 1 April 2026 to 30 September 2026. This VDA applies to all the skill categories covered under the latest wage rates.
For an unskilled worker, the minimum wage is ₹512.50 per day or ₹13,325 per month in Zone I. In Zone II, it is ₹501.50 per day or ₹13,039 per month.
For a skilled worker, the minimum wage is ₹534.50 per day or ₹13,897 per month in Zone I. In Zone II, it is ₹522.50 per day or ₹13,585 per month.
Gujarat has two zones for calculating minimum wages. Zone I covers Municipal Corporations and Municipalities, while Zone II covers areas that do not come under Zone I.
The minimum wage is calculated by adding the basic wage and VDA. For example, for an unskilled worker in Zone I, the basic wage is ₹452 per day and the VDA is ₹60.50 per day. Therefore, the total minimum wage is ₹512.50 per day.
