How to download GSTR-2A from GSTN portal?

Follow the below steps to download GSTR-2A from the portal. Now let’s see a step-by-step procedure to download GSTR-2A from the GSTN portal.
Step 1: Firstly, you need to Login into your GST portal using your login credentials.
Step 2: You will land in your Dashboard of GST Portal. Here click on Return dashboard..
Step 3: In the Return Dashboard, select the financial year and month for which you need to download GSTR-2A. Then click on search.
Step 4: On search of the details, you will see the below options. Click on Download under “Auto Drafted Details (For view only) GSTR-2A”
Step 5: Now, you can download the file in 2 formats, JSON or Excel. Select the required format. On request, the server will take a minimum of 20 minutes to generate the file. Visit back to the page after 20 Minutes.
Step 6: If you select JSON file download, the file will be made available in a zip format in the link as shown in the below screenshot.
Download the zip file and extract the JSON file. If the number of records is huge, then the details will be split into multiple files and the multiple files will be made available. This file can be read to any software to read the details of inward supplies.

If you select Excel file download, the file will be made available in a zip format same as the JSON file. Download the zip file and extract the excel file. You can view the details uploaded by the seller through this file.

Download GSTR-2A - Summary
- Login to the dashboard using GSTN credentials
- Click on Return dashboard
- Select financial year and month and hit search
- Click “Download” under “Auto Drafted Details (For view only) GSTR-2A”
- Click on “Generate Excel file to download” (Or JSON)
