List of GSPs under GST
GST suvidha provider (GSP)
In this post, we will discuss the modes and benefits of the GST Suvidha Provider (GSP) and Application Suvidha Provider (ASP).
We have categorized the topics into the following:
If you are looking for a GST suvidha provider (GSP), then visit here: We at Relyon Softech are a GSTN-certified GST Suvidha Provider (GSP).
What is GST Suvidha Provider (GSP)?
Goods and Services Tax (GST) came to reality because of the combined effort of Central and State Governments, taxpayers, and IT platform providers (Goods and Services Tax Network or GSTN, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBEC), and State Tax Departments).
However, some stakeholders also helped for introducing GST for e.g. Central and States tax authorities, RBI, the banks, the tax professionals, financial services providing companies like Enterprise resource planning (ERP) and accounting software providers, etc.
The taxpayers can now use the either G2B portal or any third-party app to access the GST Systems. These applications provide user interfaces and conveniences via desktop, mobile, and other interfaces. Such applications use secure GST System APIs, are generally known as GST Suvidha Providers or GSP.

Who is a GSP?
GST Suvidha Provider or GSP helps each GST taxpayer to maintain and follow the GST rules in a digital platform. It also provides an innovative platform for taxpayers and other stakeholders to access different GST services (from GST registration and invoicing to GST return filing) without any hustle.
GSP was introduced by GSTN (Goods and Service Tax Network), the private non-government body that owns and maintains the GST portal. Under the new GST rules, GST Suvidha Providers helps to build a new GST system for taxpayers in India.
Thus, it will ensure an open, transparent, and interactive platform for capable enterprises as well as for many entrepreneurs.
There are mainly 2 types of interactions happening inside GSP, and they are:
- Between the app user and the GSP.
- Between the GSP and the GST System.
Note: The app provider and GSP are the same.
Uses of GST Suvidha Provider
The uses of the GST Suvidha Providers to a taxpayer are given below:
- Can upload invoice (B2B and large value B2C).
- Easy upload of GSTR-1 (contain supply data) which is created based on invoice data and other data provided by the taxpayer.
- Download GSTR-2A and reconcile with purchase data in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning).
- File GSTR-3B based on the GSTR-1 filed, recorded purchase data, and available GSTR-2A information.
- There are different GST returns for taxpayers, like casual taxpayers/composition taxpayers.
3 Modes of Interaction
There are 3 modes of interaction between taxpayers and the GST portal to use various GST services in the portal.
- Direct filling in the GST portal
- ASP who is not a GSP
- ASP who is also a GSP
i. Direct filling in the GST portal
A registered taxpayer can access the GST portal for various GST services like registration, return filing, and refund.
However, not all taxpayers can do GST return filing online. As it is difficult to gather sales and purchase data from his/ her ERP system/accounting software in the correct format.
It takes many hours of manual effort to prepare a single GST return. Therefore, a GST Suvidha Provider allows taxpayers to access the GST portal for GST services without much effort.
That is, there are 2 types of intermediaries between a taxpayer and the GST portal, and they are:
ii. ASP who is not a GSP
These entities provide required third-party applications for GST. They have user interfaces that use various modes (desktop, mobile, or other interfaces) for taxpayers like any other Application Service Provider (ASP).
An application developer can connect with the GST portal using a secure GST system Application Programming Interface (APIs) with the help of GSP.
iii. ASP who is also a GSP
A government-approved Application Service Provider (ASP) is the most reliable method for GST compliance. They provide the application and are also authorized to provide an interactive platform to access the GST portal. ASP easily connects with the GST portal, which helps to eliminate any third party. As a result, these ASPs will help to increase the speed of data processing for the taxpayer.
List of GST Suvidha Providers
As per the latest update, currently 53 companies have acquired the GST Suvidha Provider or GSP license in India.
Relyon Softech Ltd, the parent company of the Saral brand itself is a GSP providing seamless and secure transactions for users and application providers. We also have our GST return filing application which is available on both desktop and cloud.
For the list of other GSP providers, visit: Here.
Note: GST Suvidha Providers can charge the taxpayers based on the services they offer. They can also decide the billing plan/ charges, and GSTN has no control over these GSPs.
What is Application Suvidha Provider ASP?
ASP or Application Service Provider is where the taxpayer can file their GST returns with the help of ASP partners / existing software. ASPs develop an end-to-end solution for corporates, consultants, and taxpayers. Thus, it becomes easy to manage the sale/purchase of goods and services and GST filing.
Many companies use Application Service Provider (ASP) to file their GST returns. However, organizations have to share the details of sales data and goods/services purchased into ASP. Then ASP will prepare and file the GST Returns through GST Suvidha Provider (GSP).
What are GSP and ASP to the Taxpayer?
Now let us see a comparison between GSP and ASP under GST for a better understanding of these concepts. They are tabulated below:
GST SUVIDHA PROVIDER (GSP) | APPLICATION SERVICE PROVIDER (ASP) |
Used to file GST returns | Used to file GST returns |
Third-party application | Third-party application |
User-friendly platform | More user-friendly platform than GSP |
Paid services | Paid services |
Use digital platform | Have user interfaces via various modes (desktop, mobile, or other interfaces) |
Save time and money | Save time and money |
Promote digital India and reduce paperwork | Promote digital India and reduce paperwork |
Can use without any taxation knowledge | Can use without any taxation knowledge |
Better performance | Better performance than GSP |
Note: Both in GSP and ASP taxpayers only need to fill in all required details, and it will automatically calculate GST returns and submit them to the GST portal.
Benefits for using an ASP who is also a GSP
- End-to-end integration with any ERP system/ accounting software and can retrieve data automatically.
- Improved and faster performance compared to any other ASP who is not a GSP.
- GSTN integration allows smooth data flow between the app and the GST portal (avoids any third party).
- Only a single time login is needed to access different locations (GSTIN).
- GSTN approved and has better data security.
With that, we have to the end of this post.
